Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Welcome to Boston

Your East Coast adventure begins in Boston. If you arrive early, you may wish to opt for a whale watching cruise, heading out towards Cape Cod to spot humpback whales and other marine life in their natural feeding grounds.

This afternoon, we meet your Travel Crew and Adventure Leader for a brief orientation before heading out to explore. We cross the Charles River to Cambridge to visit Harvard University, the oldest higher education institution in the United States. We wander through the historic campus, browse local bookshops, and have time to visit the art museum or sample a famous Mike’s Pastry cannoli.

Back in Boston, we walk a section of the Freedom Trail, following the red-brick route past some of the city’s most important Revolutionary-era landmarks. For dinner, you can choose between Quincy Market or the North End, known for its Italian heritage and food scene.

The evening is yours to enjoy. If the Red Sox are playing, you may want to soak up the atmosphere at Fenway Park. Alternatively, you could join a ghost tour or check out one of Boston’s well-known comedy clubs. Boston wrapped up - tomorrow, we move on.

  • Day 2

New York City Bound, the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge

Boston - New York. Today we travel to New York City. Once ready, we walk to the station and board our bus, arriving in the heart of Manhattan. We stop for lunch near Madison Square Garden, dining beneath the Empire State Building like true New Yorkers.

After dropping our bags at the accommodation, we head downtown to explore the Financial District. We see Wall Street, stop for photos with the Charging Bull and Fearless Girl, and take time at the 9/11 Memorial, a powerful tribute to the events of 2001.

Next comes an adrenaline boost as we jump aboard The Beast, New York’s high-speed jet boat. We race along the Hudson River, taking in views of the Manhattan skyline, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Statue of Liberty.

We then cross into Brooklyn to explore Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO, two of the city’s most scenic neighbourhoods. We relax in Brooklyn Bridge Park and have time to grab a slice of pizza that locals proudly defend as some of the best anywhere.

Tonight is free for you to explore. Shop and snack through SoHo, Chinatown, or Little Italy, or dive into the bright lights and energy of Times Square

  • Day 3

Central Park, Rockefeller Centre and Discovering Brooklyn

This morning, we head into Central Park, the most filmed location in the world. We explore its bridges, lakes, and iconic corners that have appeared in countless movies and TV shows.

From here, we stroll along Fifth Avenue, passing landmarks such as the Plaza Hotel and St Patrick’s Cathedral. We then head up to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Centre. From the 70th floor, we take in sweeping 360-degree views across Manhattan, Central Park, and beyond.

As it is Taco Tuesday, we enjoy a lively group lunch at a popular taqueria. Afterwards, we visit Grand Central Terminal, where you can grab a Magnolia Bakery cupcake or simply admire the famous celestial ceiling.

This afternoon, we travel to Bushwick, known for its bold street art, independent shops, and creative energy. Every street here feels like a gallery.

The evening is yours. You might explore Williamsburg for great food and indie charm, or try your luck with a last-minute Broadway ticket for a classic New York finale.

  • Day 4

Washington DC Bound, Lafayette Park and Georgetown

New York - Washington DC. We travel to Washington DC this morning, arriving in time for lunch at Ben’s Chili Bowl, a long-standing local institution and a favourite of former President Obama.

Our afternoon begins at Arlington National Cemetery. We visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, JFK’s eternal flame, and Arlington House, with its views across the city.

Next, we stop at Lafayette Park for photos of the White House, standing directly opposite the iconic residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

We then make a quick stop at Georgetown’s famous Exorcist Stairs before enjoying free time in Georgetown itself. You can explore the historic streets, stroll along the waterfront, rent a kayak in warmer months, go ice skating in winter, or shop along M Street and Wisconsin Avenue.

  • Day 5

Washington Revelations and a Final Night Out

Today we experience Washington DC at its most iconic on the Washington Revelations tour. We visit major landmarks including the United States Capitol, the Library of Congress, and the Washington Monument. We also explore world-class Smithsonian museums such as the Air and Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, the National Museum of the American Indian, and the African American Museum. We finish with visits to the Lincoln Memorial and the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial.

For your final night on the East Coast, we celebrate together with a night out on U Street or in the lively bars and music venues of Adams Morgan.
